Martin Villiger, PhD, is Instructor in Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and Assistant in Physics at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He obtained an MSc and PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, in Microengineering and Photonics, respectively. His research interests are in the development and validation of optical imaging modalities for biomedical applications. Since joining the Wellman Center for Photomedicine in 2010, he has led research in advancing polarization sensitive imaging for applications including intravascular imaging.
