James Moon

Clinical Director of Imaging, Barts Heart Centre, UNITED KINGDOM

James Moon trained at Oxford and Cambridge before his MD at Brompton Hospital, London.  Formerly at the Heart Hospital, he is Professor of Cardiology, UCL and the Clinical Director of Imaging, Barts Heart Centre, the largest cardiology hospital in Europe. He is current President of the British Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and program chair for EuroCMR 2017. His research interests are in heart muscle and in particular the discovery and translation to guidelines and clinical practice of new imaging and biomarker techniques for diagnosing and developing and targeting treatments. He is most known for his work on late gadolinium enhancement and T1 mapping and perfusion mapping using cardiac MRI in cardiomyopathy, infiltrative and storage diseases.
